Decided on JSON for an app prototype. Initial YAML 57 lines, converted to JSON 1 line, piped to python -m json.tool; 89 lines. XML has same line count as JSON but 2x total characters: wc -c data.xml; 2254.

Was running Wordpress on a Plesk stack on a small VM. Strange how PHP shouldn't be as resource hungry and slow as it was. Barebones Django is an order of magnitude faster.
